. Hi Lance! At first please give us a short bio of PYRAMID.

Lance:

Rage”.

It is the 4th album for this progressive metal super-project, in which Lance Sawyer, Bassist and Song Writer, is the main figure and collaborates with selected virtuoso musicians of the metal scene such as Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-IcedEarth, among others), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry. Conklin “The Tyrant” (Jag Panzer) on vocals, Mike Abdow (Fates Warning) on guitars and Chris Quirarte (Redemption) on drums, Adam Bentley (Arch Echo) on guitars and mixing engineer, Joey Izzo (Arch Echo) the master on keyboards and Perrine Missemer on the amazing violin

2. PYRAMID has a consistent presence with a new album released almost every year. What’s the secret for your creativity?

Lance: I love to create music 🎶 It’s been a passion of mine since I was a youngster. It’s like breathing for me and it’s a life force.

3. How have you changed as a musician since the band’s formation in 2017?

Lance: I guess you could say the understanding and experience of working under the construct with brilliant musicians and artists in this way. It’s not conventional nor is it really easy to do.

4. Which bands have influenced your vision for PYRAMID?

Lance: Rush was a major influence in my opinion. The way they brought the companionship and teamwork together.

5. Are you the sole writer of PYRAMID’s music and lyrics?

Lance: The structure of all the songs are yes mine. Foundation to anything if it’s solid and well built can hold some beautiful music. Lyrics some are mine but most are the ideas and feelings of the vocalist who contributed to the Pyramid Project.

6. What themes can we find in PYRAMID lyrics? Do you prefer reality or fantasy stories?

Lance: Theme? There is a connection and vision of what people want think and live. It’s lonely up top but cluttered at the bottom. You can take that metaphor and see 👀 where and what this all is 😃

7. Your latest album “Rage” featured guest vocal appearances from Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer, Titan Force, Cloven Hoof etc), and Tim “Ripper” Owens (KK’s Priest, Ripper, ex-Judas Priest). How did you come to these guest appearances?

Lance: They are both very talented artists. I reached out to both and gave them the music 🎶 to listen to. It’s all all up hill from there my friend 😀

8. What is the PYRAMID tour schedule at the moment?

Lance: No tour.. It’s was never intended for that. It’s merely a collaboration and construct of amazing talent and creative ideas. It 💯% may move in another direction because many people like Pyramid. Time will only tell 😃

10. What is your opinion on today’s Metal music? Do you see any new bands hitting hard into the scene?

Lance: Arch Echo both Adam and Joey from Pyramid are doing amazing things. Yours with Dream Theater, Periphery , and many others. They’re on their own league musically and I encourage everyone to check them out.
