DARK SKY INTERVIEW
Hello Guys! Welcome on Female Voice! Tell us about the year that you have started your music!
Wow, that was a few years ago when we were still at school and wanted to emulate our idols from AC/DC, Scorpions and Judas Priest. Back then, we went to one of our friends’ basements after school and played our first own songs there, with the three or four chords we could play on the guitars. But a lot has happened since then, and not only have the musicians changed, but the professionalism of the music has also increased enormously 😉
How you feel all these years that you are active as Dark Sky?
It feels really great how a school band has developed into a rock band that plays at big festivals, produces great music videos and regularly releases albums that get good reviews from fans and the music press.
Which one is your favorite song of your band so far?
Hey, that’s a difficult question. On the one hand, there are so-called classics of the band that have been played in the live program for years, and on the other hand, there are always new songs that I particularly like after they’ve been released and that are fun to perform live. I think of the classics, the song “Eternity” is probably immortal. Of the current songs, the title track “Signs Of The Time” is always great for me when I hear it or sing it.
Tell us a few things about your latest album!
Well, the last album was overshadowed by all the problems that not only we musicians had during the pandemic. The brutal government restrictions were shocking for us and left some marks. With DARK SKY, this led to all the musicians, except me as the singer, giving up and going into musical retirement. Since we were just in the process of creating the new album, that was a disaster. Therefore, the fears and frustrations are also reflected in the songs of our album “Signs Of The Time”, which was released after the pandemic.
Tells us a few things about your latest single!
That’s a great thing! I actually wanted to include this song on the “Signs Of The Time” album, but we had already recorded a cool cover version with “In The Heat Of The Night”. Now we had the chance to record “You Spin Me Round” with our new guitarist Kevin Kurtz and that was really cool. Above all, shooting the music video was really fun and our music video partner, Tisbe Production, did a great job.
What do you keep from 2024?
Well, we played at some really big festivals and were able to make some good contacts. We also got a new musician in the band, Kevin, who improves our sound and, above all, our live presence. And finally, we have set a few course for the coming years that will hopefully take DARK SKY to the next level.
What are your plans for 2025?
The year has started for us with us working on new songs in order to release a new album at the end of the year or the beginning of 2026. We already had a small but sold-out gig in January to check out a long set of DARK SKY songs with our new guitarist and from June onwards all the festivals we will be playing at will start. It will definitely be an exciting year for the band.
Thank you! Share your thoughts with our readers!
Thank you very much for the questions and it would be great if you would listen to DARK SKY’s latest album “Signs Of The Time”. I can also only recommend watching our current music videos and last but not least it would be cool if we could see you live at a festival or on tour at one of our shows.
